MEWP Operator Training

OSHA and ANSI require training to include Classroom AND Hands-On Training.

Program length depends on the type(s) of MEWP equipment (3A or 3B), number of trainees and the experience

level of the class.

Approximate Duration 2 hours 45 minutes.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Classroom presentation and test 1 hours 15 minutes

Course covers Federal Law, OSHA 29 CFR 1926.453, and ANSI 92.5

and 92.6 requirements, including:

Basic Principles of scissor lifts and boom lifts, the Laws and Regulations, Safety Equipment, Pre-start Inspection requirements (and simple Maintenance), Workplace Inspection, how to manage hazardous situations, Safe Operating Practices, and how to act in an emergency.

Product Safety Video (if applicable) 10 minutes

Product Manual 10 minutes

Reading and understanding excerpts from the Aerial Lift Instruction manual.

Pre-Inspection 15 minutes

Run through an actual pre-inspection
of operator’s MEWP 3A or 3B.

Practical (Hands – on) 25 minutes

Familiarization of MEWP controls.
Actual practice of MEWP functions.

Testing (Hands - on) 20 minutes per person

Includes Traveling forward, backward, Turning, Raising, Traveling forward,

backward and turning while raised, Lowering.

Training is provided at your location (or a work site) with your equipment. Although we do not maintain a training location or equipment in order to keep our overheads low and our pricing competitive, we can sometimes arrange with local rental companies to rent their equipment for an additional fee.
